January 27, 2008
We have just returned from a beautiful road journey to Tucson, Arizona, where we happily brought the Living Pulse trees to new homes where they will be loved and actively used for years to come. Great thanks to our generous donors who made this possible!
Our team showed up at the Transmissions Gallery in Berkeley (who has stored Living Pulse for us for all of this time!) with good spirits and bright energy to load the truck - despite the pouring rain on Friday morning.
Leaving on Saturday before sunrise, Rachel and Iris drove it to Tucson in an 18 hour straight run with a 24' truck. There we were warmly welcomed, and another great spirited team unloaded it in a rare Tucson downpour.
Every healthy seed needs water to grow vibrantly!
We are looking forward to returning to Tucson in early March to help set up the trees at the Mat Bevel Institute, 530 N. Stone Ave, Tucson, AZ. Come and visit!
PARTICIPATE IN LIVING PULSE!
SUNDAY, AUGUST 12, 10:00am - 7:00pm – 2370 West Street, the yard of a kind neighbors, cross street is Channing Way, in Berkeley. We welcome EVERYONE's help this day to give it a full set up run and tear it back down again.
Come and spend the day with us - if you can't make it out to the playa, here's your chance to see our installation. If you are pre-committed, drop by just for a sneak peak or lend a hand whenever you can.
If you are also interested in being involved in other ways, we
need help with making instruments (can work individually or in an awesome team), windproofing the banners, wiring LEDs and ElWire, working with the fabric of the heart, and tearing prayer-leaves.
Send us a note at thelivingpulse@fastmail.net!
Living Pulse Red Party
Thank you all who attended our wonderful Living Pulse party. It was awesome and everyone had a great time. Drinks were mixed, people mingled and music made it's way through to the wee hours of morn. We also made a lot of great new connections with more people learning and becoming interested in our project. Some photos have been posted.
Building our first prototype
We had a very productive workday and meeting last sunday. Testing what was only on paper and computer screen before, we built our first out tree prototype, well the framework for it anyway. Thanks to all our team members. Click below for more pictures from that day, we also had a great meeting to plan our upcoming party on april 21, it was nice to see everyone again.
Announcing our musical guests:
I'm excited to announce we will have two great musical acts performing at our party. The first group, LoCura, describe themselves as "Reggalicious Flamenkito". They're an energetic trio fusing grooves and melodies from Reggae, CubanSon, Flamenco & North American Folk. They should be great.

Then we also have Tango La Melodia bringing their Roaring 20's blend of tango, gypsy jazz, cabaret, vaudeville and speakeasy atmosphere to the stage. Again this will be a great performance. Make your plans now.
